Natural Cleaning | Henry Happened
There are lots of reasons you might prefer to use all natural products for cleaning - for me it’s mainly health reasons! When you suffer from asthma, you find that many cleaning products can set off an attack. Of course, there is also the impact on our environment and general health. The unfortunate thing is that often you find that all natural cleaners just don’t do as well as the chemical filled commercial products. So I was excited to see a post on HH about a grease-fighting dish soap. HH has done the hard work and research to work out how to get a good natural dishsoap that will get your dishes clean without the residue. From there, I went on a click frenzy through her other posts which include Citrus Garbage Disposal refreshers, Naturally Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, and 5 Naturally Antibacterial Bathroom Cleaners. You’ll need to go out and purchase a few things like liquid castile soap (Dr Bronner is a fantastic Australian company that makes liquid castile soap & other beautiful castile products!) but in the end your body, environment and house will thank you! I’m planning on getting some castile soap tomorrow and making my own hand soap and some soft scrub for my bathroom!

IKEA Kitchen Storage In The Bathroom | Apartment Therapy
This is such a good idea that I’m actually posting this mainly for myself! I’ve always had trouble with storage in my shower. I tried the whole suction cap stuff (slid down slooooooowly as soon as water hit the wall, no matter how clean/dry the wall was before attaching!) one of those stand up things (kept hurting myself on it) and currently I have the worst designed hanging shower caddy (why do they make the surrounds so short?! Bottles are tall!). This is a great alternative - a shelf for my lotions & potions and hooks for all those tools you need in the shower!
Mural Painted Bathroom | Scathingly Brilliant
I’ve been going through my DIY folder and I came across this saved post of Kate’s amazing bathroom! Can you believe she did this on a whim on a Saturday night at 2AM?! I think what I like the most is the pink tones of the print. If you want to do something similar, Google ‘murals’. If you’re confident in hand drawing, sketch it out straight onto the wall. If you’re not, there are a couple of options. The easiest and quickest option (if you have access to a projector) is to project the image straight onto the wall and trace with a pencil. If not, try printing your image large scale and do the old pencil rubbing on the back, trace over the front. If you have another suggestion of how to get a large image onto the wall, please add your idea! I’m very inspired now!
Vintage Suitcase Medicine Cabinet | Poppy Talk
This is one of the coolest conversions I’ve ever seen! If you want to inject some personality into your house, this is a great idea. I particularly like the little tag!
DIY Cotton Waffle Bathmat | Woman’s Day
OK so this would take me ages to make but I love it! You know how much I love Scandinavian design, and this is so pretty. And you can download the template so if you wanted to you could even put it onto a canvas! This is just one of the projects from a book on Scandinavian projects which I’m dying to get. Then everything in my house with be Scandinavian!
Free download: Star Soap sign | Pretty Handy Girl
The bathroom is the one room I think people miss when they’re decorating. I guess that people are worried about adding any art because of the moisture - you don’t want to invest in something only to have it buckle and shrink because you like your hot showers! But this cute download is perfect - print it onto some photo paper and frame it in an old frame from an op shop - you can have a beautifully decorated space that’s stress free. Or you could do as they have here and add a hook, making it a pretty place to hang your towel!
Windowpane to Towel Rack | Frilly Lilly
This is so clever, I think I will need to make something similar for my own bathroom. You could even use somethibng like this for your hallway - assign everyone a ‘pane’ and they could write notes, etc ibn there and hang bags underneath!
