I’ve always been incredibly impressed by people who are able to decorate cakes and cookies like this. There are so many variables when it comes to food - having the correct tools, temperature, ingredients - and knowing how to combine them to create something so beautiful! Sweetopia has lots of recipes like this so make sure to check them out if you love cooking (or just love looking at things like this like me!)
Chocolate & Peanut Butter Acorns | Six In The Suburbs
When I lived in the USA, one thing that stood out the most for me in regards to food was that Americans love peanut butter and chocolate. Seriously, there are a million different chocolate bars that have some kind of peanut butter/chocolate variation, there’s biscuits, there’s cereal… After my first Butterfinger I was like - oh my gosh, this is the greatest thing EVER. So when I saw these adorable little ‘acorns’, I immediately went searching USA Foods (a truly awesome site for us Aussies for American food!) for mini Nutter Butters… nope. Frowny face. I might contact them and ask if they can order them in… for those of you who have easier access to Nutter Butter Minis, these would be perfect for a party or… a party of one?! If you don’t love peanut butter and chocolate as much as I do, you could also try this recipe for Acorn Donut Holes (I miss donut holes. Sigh.)
Vintage Lace Cookies | Bee In Our Bonnet
I’ve posted cookies with this style of decoration before and I love them so much that when I found these I had to post them straight away! I really want to try making these, they seem to be easy to do. Has anyone tried them before? Maybe I should and then let you know how I went! Haha!
Over The Rim Cookies | The Decorated Cookie
This month at work my team is going to be holding a bake sale to raise money for charity and I’ve been trying to work out what to cook that will catch people’s eye and make sure we make as much money as possible. Because it’s an office people are always having a bikkie with their tea and coffee so I think that these will be a big hit! Also it will give me time to practice my icing decorating skills.
Congratulations NYC!
So I woke up this morning to find out the amazing & truly happy news that no matter who you are or who you love, you’re now able to get married in NYC! Congratulations to the LGBT community!
In celebration, why not cook some Rainbow Cookies from the Gay Gourmet? So much fun to make and they look really delicious too!
Doily Cookies | Bliss Images
That’s right, another recipe! But I couldn’t resist showing you these, they’re so pretty. Such a clever idea too. These would be great for Christmas time to hang on the tree! Just make sure your doilies are clean!
Choc Chip Cookies (with special ingredient!) | V & Co
These choc chip cookies have a special ingredient - instant vanilla pudding! Who’d a thunk it?! Apparently it makes them nice and fluffy. I’m intrigued - my biscuits usually end up so soft and moist that they fall apart or so crunchy they break your teeth. And I hate crunchy biscuits. I think I’ll make these this weekend, and hope my dad doesn’t eat them all before I can have one!
Peanut Butter Kisses | From Scratch
Whilst living in America, I became obsessed with peanut butter & chocolate. It’s basically a non-existent entity here in Australia (apart from peanut m&ms - so not the same) So you can not believe how excited I was when the Drakes down from me started selling Peanut Butter Cups, Watchamacalits, Peanut Butter m&ms and my absolute favourite… Butterfingers… yum! And then I discovered the incredibly awesome USA Foods website for Aussies, that sold Nutter Butter cookies! And all my other delicious lovelies that I miss!
And now I have another love, Peanut Butter Kisses from the lovely Emma at From Scratch. I love the way she wrapped them in pink foil to make them look like Hershey’s Kisses too. A very exciting day!
