Pretty Little City Cross Stitch Patterns | Satsuma Street
I was so excited when I came across Satsuma Street. Her cross stitch patterns are so amazing, and I check back regularly to see if she has new patterns! I am currently working on these Pretty Little City patterns - the Paris one right now, then London and then the Russian one - they are going to look amazing framed as a set!
Cross Stitch Cover Button | The Making Spot
I’ve been cross stitching like crazy lately and devouring any free patterns I can find! The Making Spot is a fantastic mix of free & pay patterns, tutorials and tips. I adore those flower patterns on the right - they would be great on a ring or hair pin.
‘Love’ Needlepoint Project | Felicity Hall
Felicity does truly gorgeous and modern needlepoint and even better, you can download this gorgeous project for free! This would be great on one of those cross stitch iPhone cases, or on a pillow. And if you’re looking for something more Holiday related, there is also a pretty ‘Christmas Morning’ project to download too.
Cross Stitch Family Portrait | Martha Stewart
Sometimes I come across a craft that I have to share with you straight away and here it is! These are like a more adorable/cool version of those family stickers you see on the back of cars now! The best part is that these are modern and cool. I’m making one of these for my sister (and including the two cats!) so exciting!
edit: now with the link!
Cross Stitch iPhone Case | Purl Bee
You guys, the cross stitch iPhone case is here! You can get your hands on this white version here from Purl Soho. Purl Bee shares some ideas on what to stitch and also features the pattern for the very cool stripe pattern. This case is $25, but the fact that you can cut off the old pattern and stitch on a new one means that you can have a new case whenever you feel like it!
A Stitch In Time
Feeling stitchy? Here are my favourite cross stitch PDFs from Etsy. I’m super keen to do that Las Vegas pillow!
Top Row, L-R: Tea & Scandal | Penelope Waits, Christmas Heart | Pattern Bird, Modern Chairs | Tiny Modernist
Bottom Row, L-R: Owl Always Love You | Chez Sucre Chez, Las Vegas Needlepoint | Modern Needleworks, Whimsical Bird | Sewing Seed
Hand Drawn Cross Stitch | The Odessa May Society
This is such a good idea - and reminds me of that giant wall cross stitch I featured before. For those of you who love the look of cross stitch but have two left hands (the clumsy version of sewing?!) this is so easy and still gives the same effect. If you can draw crosses, you can make a hand drawn cross stitch! You could even use puffy paint to give the raised effect. I really want to try doing a large wall cross stitch, I think this feather would look great don’t you think?
Cross Stitch Sampler | Make Something
So there isn’t a pattern for this but it’s so inspiring I had to share it. I’ve lamented the fact that there aren’t very many modern cross stitch patterns out there, but I think this would look perfect up on the wall. I particularly like the ‘ombre’ style of the letters (and I like saying ‘ombre’) and the leaf border. I think I could make this!
Royal Wedding Cross Stitch | Bugs & Fishes
Is anyone else looking forward to the Royal Wedding?! Leaving all politics aside, the Royals sure know how to put on a wedding to remember! And what better way to celebrate than with this super cute sampler? Of course, if you prefered to not celebrate the wedding, this is still a perfect gift idea for any bride to be (um, just remember to change the names - and maybe the crown?!)
Cross Stitch Gift Card | Stitch Vicious
My best friend Brandi bought me a couple of awesome tshirts and i wanted to get her a funny card but i couldnt find any so i made her this.
This is such a good idea, why didn’t I think to sew cross stitches instead of giving cards?! I hate spending money on gift cards, I’m like - I’ve spent six dollars on a card for you and I know that you’re going to look at it, say thank you, then throw it in the bin! Sewing a birthday cake or lyrics from a song is so much more personal and I don’t know about anyone else but when I get something made for me I appreciate it so much more!
Wall Cross Stitch | Bloesem
Oh.My.Gosh. I think that I need to go out and buy some paints right now and do this on my bedroom wall! Gah! This gorgeous house belongs to the lovely Eline Pellinkhof, go to the Bloesem blog and check out the rest of her house: envy!
Quick Cross Stitch | Martha Stewart
One of my favourite crafts is cross stitch, I find it so calming. But one thing I don’t find calming is trying to find a cross stitch that I actually want to do! I feel like the only ones out there are Disney characters, country scapes and roses. Where are the cool modern cross stitches?! I should have known that Martha would be the answer. These lovely little simple stitches are so sweet and I can see doing every single one of them to pop on the wall. And the best part of these is that they are one colour so they’re great for taking on the road and finishing off quickly!
