Microwave Brownie Lava Cakes | The Yummy Life
A while ago an email spread like wildfire through my office- Microwave Chocolate Cake In A Mug. People were excited. Cake! Quick cake! Yeah… Imagine what a cake made in a mug would look like…not pleasant. Also the ingredients were a little skew-iff so if you followed it directly and added one whole egg for one mug cake it turned into a weird gluey mess. Many were dissapointed. But I’m willing to try again with this recipe - it says it yielded 100% consistent results. And for such a delicious, gooey (on purpose!) chocolately dessert, I’m willing to try. If you decide to try too, let me know what your results are!
White Chocolate Heart Cups with Strawberry Ice Cream | Go Make Me
So these are meant to be for Valentine’s Day, but seriously, you shouldn’t ever have to wait a whole year to eat something this delicious! I think the thing that really caught my eye though is that little puff of fairy floss on top! Pretty and delicious, awesome!
Mini Strawberry, Lemon and Shortbread Trifle | Madigan Made
One thing I love about buffets is the mini desserts. It means that instead of wasting your dessert on onething that might not taste good (or starts to taste bad after a while) you get to have multiple desserts with a little taste of everything! Who doesn’t love that?! These mini trifles would be perfect for your own buffet style dinner party (they’re so easy to make that you could make more than one dessert no stress!)
S’mores Pie | The Pastry Affair
My new love is the Pastry Affair, and I honestly can’t work out what the heck I share with you from it because I want to share it all! I finally settled on this S’mores Pie because it made me yell out ‘OH MY GOSH!’ when I saw it! Yum. I would have to take this to a party or someone else’s house though because I’m pretty sure I would eat it all and get really sick… The recipe is quite similar to making a lemon meringue pie - make the crust, fill and then the best part - lay the marshmallows on top and melt them under the broiler. OK, enough talking, time to get backing!
Whoopie Pies | Martha Stewart
You know how you get a real craving for something but you can’t find it at the stores? Well I really want a whoopie pie but the closest thing I can get here is… nothing. You can’t buy them here! So I guess I’m just going to have to make my own. Of course Martha has a great recipe, so I’m hoping my mum who is staying with me this week will make them for me?!
Slice Recipes | Skipping Girl Vinegar via Frankie Mag
Having a good slice recipe in your repertoire is important. Especially when you’re asked to bring something to a dinner party, cook something for a bake sale or have someone popping over for afternoon tea and there’s nothing in the house. I truly love all of these slices - Mars Bar slice, Lemon Slice and Chocolate & Pistachio slice. Out of all of these, Lemon Slice is my all time favourite. Some of these ingredients are Aussie, so if you want to bake one and you’re not sure what you can use as an alternative, send me a message and I’ll help you out!
Mini Banoffee Pie | A Beautiful Mess
My gorgeous cousin Laura recently had her birthday and when I go over there for Tuesday tea I want to make something I know she will like, which is Banoffee Pie… though we know it as caramel & banana pie! Banoffee pie sounds so much more fancy though, doesn’t it? These look soooo good, and how good is it that they’re bite sized?
Also, I just realised that Laura will probably read this. Laura, don’t read this! Or forget that you read this!
Peanut Butter Cup Icecream | Pie Birds, Buttons & Muddy Puddles
I realised I hadn’t posted a recipe in ages, so here we go! If you don’t like peanuts (or are allergic!) then you will not like this icecream. But I lurve peanuts! You do need a ice cream maker to make this, but um, doesn’t this look worth the cost!? And you could make sorbet, gelati, more ice cream… totally worth the investment!
Pie In A Jar | Not Martha
So we’ve had cupcakes in a car, and now… pie in a jar! I truly adore the little love heart cut out the top of this pie! This is such a good idea for those times when you’ve got nothing in the house but you need something sweet. This happens to me all the time. And also: great presents! Especially those birthdays that you completely forgot about but don’t want to let on that you did! ‘Oh yeah, I just made this adorable little pie in a jar especially for you *quickly closes freezer door* for your birthday!’
Bunny Brownies | No Fuss Fabulous
Easter is a great time to give and there’s nothing better than brownies! And such lovely freebie labels to attach, these look so pretty. Though I don’t know if you can get Peeps here in Australia - I might have to go to US Foods for them!
