Doily Tshirt | By Hand London
As expressed in may a post before, I love doilies, especially in fashion. I’ve seen lots of tops with the doily sewn onto the front, but I love this idea of sewing it onto the back with it open. A perfect top for Summer and even better as cover up for the beach!
Vintage Doily Basket | Country Living
This is a super easy craft - all you need is starch and a doily! I have seen these made using glue and water - good if you want the bowl to be a bit more sturdier and permanent. With the starch though you can just soak it in hot water and voila, you have your doily back!
‘Gilded’ Doily Votive Cups | One Pearl Button
Got to make a present that looks amazing but costs you next to nothing? Here it is! To make these cups, you use a doily as a trace, you just colour in the cutouts with a gold Sharpie and that’s it! Pop them in a pretty box with a few votives, wrap it up with a big bow and you have a cheapo gift that looks like a million bucks.
p.s. I picked up some awesome electic tea lights the other day, they even flicker like the real thing! It was two for two bucks. Perfect for those summer nights when you can’t be bothered getting up every two seconds to re-light candles!
IKEA Mirror Revamp | Lifelix
Looking through the rest of the Lifelix blog, I came across this revamp and fell in LOVE. That’s capital LOVE, I’m talking bout love! (where is that from? a song? sorry, I’ve been sick, I’m a bit delirious!) but anyway I really do love this mirror. I’ve seen it at IKEA and thought - boring! Seriously, add doilies to something and I’m smitten. I would proudly hang this on my wall!
Doily Bowl | A Merry Mishap
I saw some fantastic bowls at IKEA that were quite similar to these bowls, but they were so expensive - these are cheap and easy! I love these doily bowls, perfect for holding little trinkets or tiny macarons. I think I could make a ton of these for the same price as the IKEA one!
