DIY Multi Colour Body Con Dress | A Pair & A Spare
Some people’s ingenuity when it comes to creating DIYs is amazing! I can’t believe that this dress is made from rugs! How crazy is that!? But it’s so pretty. A Pair & A Spare also created a skirt from these rugs, but the dress is my favourite. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Backless Zipper Dress | I Am Vintage Lover
I would never be able to carry this off, but if you’re the kind of person who can wear backless dresses with style, how could you go past this for your Saturday night out outfit! And if you get cold at the end of the night just zip it up!
DIY Draped Dress | Anywho
I wish I could drape fabric and end up with something as lush and sophisticated as this! If you are able to save up/have a ton of spare money/want to blow a packet, may I suggest getting a dress form? I have a really old one that my dad found in the props department of my home town’s Town Hall. Seriously, when he told me he had gotten it for me, I almost cried with excitement! It’s what I would call… vintage?! But being able to pin stuff together on it or creating something like this gorgeous dress is so much easier when you have a dress form. Also it is perfect to hang my accessories on! OK, tomorrow I’m going to take a photo of it to share. After I try making this dress!
Spine Dress | Love Aesthetics
OK, so this DIY does require you have a dress similar to the one pictured, but the end result is worth it. But please ladies, wear something underneath. No matter how gorge your body is, no one needs to see you underbits. That just ain’t classy. You could also do this with a tight tshirt if you don’t have a tshirt dress. I’m not 100% cluey on how you do the ‘knitting’ on the back of the dress, but I’m sure there is a smart gal out there who could show us!
T-Shirt Mini Dress by Dixie DIY | Burdastyle
I haven’t visited Burdastyle in ages since I finally came to peace with the fact that machine sewing is not my forte. I’m glad I did! I reckon I could make this easy. Though I’ve been wrong before… but seriously, if you’re looking for some quick and easy projects to whip up, check out the free section of Burdastyle and choose ‘Novice’. Though I think I need another filter called ‘For Those Who Have Trouble Sewing A Straight Line’.
Braided Shoulder Tshirt Dress | Nice & Shiny
These braided shoulders make me think of Princess Leia’s hair! But I really like the braids hanging from the left shoulder - what are they called epaulets? So comfy and stylish. Whack on some leggings, braid your hair and rock your shoulders!
1 Hour Dress | CraftStylish
I love any sewing project that is quick and looks fabulous. And a simple slip dress suits almost anyone - and how nice does it look belted? Perfect with a nice jacket for work, then with a big chunky necklace for drinks at the pub!
McIntosh Knockoff Dress | Maybe Matilda
I like dress tutorials that incorporate an old tshirt into them because frankly, I suck at sewing tops! Especially scoop necks. So anyway, I love the big bow on the front, and the combination of striped and plain fabric. A super sweet dress perfect for summer!
Elegant & Easy Dress | Martha Stewart
What is it about my favourite magazines always getting cancelled?! First Blueprint from the Martha Stewart range and the Domino magazine. Dammit! I truly love my Domino magazines, I still have every copy. And I still go back and read my Blueprints. Martha Stewart, if you ever read this - please bring back Blueprint! Anyway, I like that you can still get the crafts from Blueprint off of the Martha site, and this dress was one of my favourites. So simple to make yet very sweet and classic.
Pastel Candy Shoppe Dress | Red Velvet Shop
Yay! The Red Velvet Shop is open! I love every dress in this store, especially this lovely lilac and lemon combination. Also check out the E-Courses, I think I will check out the Retro Beauty one myself!
DIY Vena Cava Dress | Teen Vogue
Teen Vogue has an amazing aray of DIY’s, but I think this one is my favourite (mainly because of the quote on the top of the dress!) but as I said, there are many more, so go right now and check it out!
Museum Tunic | Anna Maria Horner
This dress is fabulous and so easy to make. Even better, you can go through Anna Maria’s shop and buy a kit to whip it up in no time!
