Diptyque Inspired Candles | A Pair & A Spare
PLUS: Free S+T candle labels!
OK, so after seeing this lovely DIY for Diptyque inspired candles I thought… hmm, wouldn’t it be nice to have some pretty labels to attach to your home made candles? So I made some! As you can see from the tutorial, it’s so easy to make these. If you’re wanting to make your candles to smell just like the real thing, I suggest you go here to Sweetcakes to get their Diptyque inspired fragrances. There’s Fig and Black Currant Rose (which is my favourite) Make them in glass tumblers or even little teacups and attach your new labels…
That’s right, labels. I’ve made one for those two fragrances as well as one for the very popular Oatmeal, Milk & Honey and Warm Vanilla. You can either print them on paper and glue them on, or you could print on sticky back label paper. I hope you like them!
Printable Gift Cards | Fellow Fellow
It’s always good to have some printable tags saved on your computer for those ‘emergency present’ times! And these ones are incredibly pretty too. Check out the rest of Fellow Fellow for some more lovely downloads too.
Pretty Pantry Labels | The Pretty Blog
The Pretty Blog has another gorgeous free set of labels for your kitchen, this time you can download them in (I think!) German as well as English! If you’re like me and kind of anal about labeling and sorting things, then you will be as excited about these as me! Also check out the previous gorgeous freebie labels available from TPB here.
Foxy Bookmarks | Lonnie Jacobsen
I finally found the CD I lost yonks ago from the local Library so now I can finally return to start borrowing books again! So of course I need an adorable bookmark to mark where I am in the multitude of books I plan on borrowing! This wee little fox is perfect - and if I forget to take it out of a book before I return it I can just print a new one!
Printable Spring Grocery Pad | Ellinee
If you’re like me, you get to the grocery store and then think… what was I meant to buy!? So you buy what you think you need only to get back home and realise… you already have three of each item. Yikes. But if you print off this pretty pad and keep it in your bag, you’ll never end up with 3 bags of potato roasts. Yep.
Free Seamless Patterns | Nicole’s Classes
If your current background is no longer doing it for you, try out these gorgeous seamless patterns from Nicole’s Classes. Featuring seagulls, flowers, flamingos and fresh Summery colours, these are perfect for your website backgrounds and desktops. I’ve got the flamingo as my desktop right now!
Free Floral Stationery | The Lovely Dept.
Everyone should have stationery - you never know when you will need to write a thank you note, a quick hello or a ‘stop your dog pooping on my lawn or it’s go time’ note. This sweet set is customisable (add your initial) or go for the blank version if you wish to remain… anonymous.
Confetti Mad Libs & Activity Sheets | Love Vs Design
OK, I think we can all admit: weddings can get boring. It’s usually after everyone is finished eating and before speeches. Especially if the music is terrible! These printables are great because not only are they something to do for your guests, they’re also great for the Bride & Groom to keep afterwards.
Dip Dyed Ribbons & Free Printable Tags | Ruffled
What I love the most about these ribbons & tags is that they’re not just for Valentine’s Day - these would be perfect for any gift. The watercolour effects of both are so sweet!
Holiday Freebie | Benign Objects
This is a great set of free downloads for y’all who want to make some pretty yet cheap gifts. My favourite part of the set is the CD cover - a mix tape is super cheap but I love getting them, and usually discover new music I love! There’s also pillow boxes and jar labels. Fill the pillow boxes with lollies or chocolate bars and the jars - well you can fill those with anything, but may I suggest one of the ‘cookies in a jar’ recipes?
Christmas Craft Gift Round Up!
Day 6: Tag, You’re It!
This year, save your dollars for gifts and print out your labels and gift wrap instead. Today I’m going to feature the tags, tomorrow the paper. I’m planning on using the Lisa Rupp and Claire Dalgeish ones - so pretty!

Guys, I’m really sad. As some of you know, I was chosen as part of the PEN ready project by Olympus & Tumblr. Well the competition is nearly over and… No camera. I’ve sent emails but… no replies! Oh well. You win some you loose some!
I know I promised some tutorials once I received the camera but good news - I’m getting a new phone on the weekend with a better camera on it so expect to see my second tutorial on Subday/Monday! PLUS, I’ve been working on a free download for a super easy tutorial, which I will have ready TOMORROW! It’s all happening! Does anyone know of any fee file sharing services that I could use? Thank you in advance!
And welcome, welcome, welcome to all my new followers! We’re up to over 13,000 people reading Scossors + Thread now. Is it sad that this is one of my greatest accomplishments?! If anyone ever wants to say hello or ask a question, drop me a line.
Also hello to all the Facebook friends of S+P! If you would like to share crafts you’ve made (your own or from one of the tutorials here) please post it! If it’s an original tutorial I would love to share it!
Ok I should really go back to bed. Hope everyone had/is having a great Mobday! Only… Four more days to go!
Lots of love,

Book Club DIY | The Pretty Blog
I’ve always wanted to be part of a book club. Maybe I should start one with my friends. I love reading, and I love when someone else is/has read the same book so we can talk about it. I’ve also been trying to get back into reading - generally I only read Terry Pratchett! This printable set is a perfect way to invite people to join, and how cool are those cupcake tags?! Does anyone else belong to a book club? How do you decide what books to read? Any suggestions on books that were popular with everyone?
