Hair Tutorials | A Beautiful Mess
i get asked a lot about hair tutorials, so here is a round up of 20 from the lovely ABM! There are a few you might have seen on the site before and a few you haven’t. I’m going to share this with my sister, she loves trying new styles!
Studded Bun Cuff | MJ Trimming
I finally bought one of those weird bun sponges and it’s awesome! I thought it wouldn’t do anything for me because my hair is pretty short but as long as you’ve got enough to wrap around the sponge then you’re set! And now to decorate the sponge bun, this truly awesome bun cuff! It will fit in perfectly with my new tough Frenchy chic look!
Textured Side Braid | Fashionising
Even though I love the way my hair looks when I wear it down, it is so thick and heavy that it drives me nuts. That’s why I love this style - it’s down but out of the way! Plus it’s not too ‘done’ - pretty and casual.
Star Hair Clips | For The Love Of
I get lots of requests for short hair tutorials but honestly they are few and far between! But there are always lots of cute clip DIYs and I thought y’all would like this one! How sweet are they? And pretty on any hair length.
Ponytail Twist | Love Maegan
For the eternal ponytail wearers like myself, here is a new way to wear it that is quite chic! And easy to do too - but just a warning, you will probably be just as jealous as me of Maegan’s gorgeous hair!
Decorate Your Hair!
Hair. Whether you love yours or have an ongoing battle with it, it can be fun to take a break from your usual routine and mix it up. From vintage taping to feathers or scarves, adding something to your ‘do can turn a plain tee in jeans into something trendy or add a bit of pizazz to your usual Saturday night ensemble!

Side Twist Fishtail Braid | Running On Happiness
I’m not the best at creating fish tails, but that’s not going to stop me from trying! I think this might be especially easier because it’s on the side - a much easier place to access than the back of your head!
DIY Hair Necklace | The Beauty Department
I usually only post DIYs that I myself would want to do, but I gotta be honest - putting this in my hair would end up a massive, knotty disaster. But I love it so much I had to share it anyway! It reminds me of the very popular trend of long dangly ear cuffs that are everywhere at the moment. This does require a little skill - mainly using the pliers to open and close the loops of the chain - but once you get the hang of it you’ll be addicted to jewelry making and there’s no turning back! Haha!
Wedding Up-dos
The way you wear your hair on your wedding day is influenced by your dress, your hair cut and also your personal style! Don’t try anything too different - you want to look like yourself but a more gorgeous and glamourous version of you! Each of these styles has the step by step so that you can try them yourself or you can just print out the photo to give to your hairdresser.
Chanel Pearl Hairpins | Honestly WTF
Remember those hair things in the 90’s that were like a gem or butterfly with a circular piece of metal that you twisted into your hair? What were they called?! I just remember seeing Rachel wearing them on Friends and deciding I needed them straight away! These remind me of those, but a lot classier (cos they’re inspired by Chanel!) Super cute and perfect for dressing up short or long hair (the best kind of accessory!)
Super Quick Saturday DIY: Felt Hairbows | Just Everyday Me
Is it just me or did Saturday come round super quick again?! Here’s a very cute DIY that won’t take you much time at all and is pretty cheap. There are so many colours of felt out there to choose from and even some pretty cute printed felts. Perfect for little and big girls alike!
Pastel Hair Strand | Park & Cube
When I suggested to my mum that I dye my hair pink she was slightly um… against it. Deep down I know she is right but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do! I think I would probably regret it straight away because I would notlook after it and I would end up looking like an upside down ice cream cone once my roots had grown out! A clip in piece is a great alternative, and with my ever changing moods means I could change it up. Plus doesn’t it look gorgeous braided into her hair?!

DIY Balayage Highlights | A Pair & A Spare
During Summer I usually chop off all my hair - it gets so hot that having thick hair is like wearing a coat on your head! I’ve had my hair done, but I still feel like I need something more - I’m pretty much in love with these highlights! I like that it gives just a little change to your hair and that when it grows out it won’t look dodgy!
