This is like a two-fer DIY - cute pearl hairpins and an awesome hairstyle to use them on! Plus, this DIY is as easy as pie - a little hot glue, some pearls and pins and you will be done in a few minutes (just make sure the glue is dry before you start putting them in your hair!). If you want to get a little more creative, you could try painting your pins to match your pearls (which would look amazing in white on dark hair!).
Brit + Co has a great round up of hair chalk styles that is sure to get your creative juices going! Hair chalk is a great alternative to dyeing (and less risk of it all going pear shaped when you wash your hair!) and it means you can change up your style each day. Hair chalk is so easy to find these days - they even have it at Woolworths if you’re in Australia - and some brands are actually really good on dark hair too! I love the bottom pic, it’s very girly and somewhat how I think a mermaid would have her hair. Click through for even more inspiration, including darker hair pics!
My hair has been put in a pony tail so much in my life that it now has a kink in it. Yep. Anyway, I love ponytails, especially as I can’t stand my hair in my face. But plain ponys can get boring, and for some reason scrunchies are no longer a mainstay in my house. I really love the pony on the far right with it’s ‘bubble’ segments. I’ll just need to purchase a few more elastics!
I love those tutorials where they show you how to recreate a hair style that only takes four different pomades, 300 bobby pins and 7 arms. For some reason, my hair never looks the same as the picture, fancy that! If you can French braid (or braid if you’re like me!) and create a back comb, you can create this hairstyle. I like that it’s an updo but doesn’t feel too ‘done’, meaning if you get up earlier than me in the mornings, you could probably create this style (or something close to it!)
Regardless of whether you’re a casual bike rider or a every day cyclist, if you wear a helmet you’ll know the horror of helmet hair! Well here are 5 gorgeous hairstyles that you can easily create and have confidence that after your ride your hair will still look fab (in fact, these are great to try even if you have never ridden a bike in your life!)
I always try to feature short hair tutorials but sometimes they’re hard to come by. That’s why I like this ‘hair jewelry’ - you can wear this on short hair as well as long - the two flowers are attached to bobby pins. This is so customisable, and you could even wear these as a cardigan clip!
Don’t let crazy Gaga hair bows deter you from trying one of these hair DIYs (though I do love that giant hair bow she wears!). Brit + Co brings you three new ways to add a sweet little bow to your do - via a ponytail, braid or bow bun. I kind of super love that bow bun!
i get asked a lot about hair tutorials, so here is a round up of 20 from the lovely ABM! There are a few you might have seen on the site before and a few you haven’t. I’m going to share this with my sister, she loves trying new styles!
I finally bought one of those weird bun sponges and it’s awesome! I thought it wouldn’t do anything for me because my hair is pretty short but as long as you’ve got enough to wrap around the sponge then you’re set! And now to decorate the sponge bun, this truly awesome bun cuff! It will fit in perfectly with my new tough Frenchy chic look!
Even though I love the way my hair looks when I wear it down, it is so thick and heavy that it drives me nuts. That’s why I love this style - it’s down but out of the way! Plus it’s not too ‘done’ - pretty and casual.
Star Hair Clips | For The Love Of
I get lots of requests for short hair tutorials but honestly they are few and far between! But there are always lots of cute clip DIYs and I thought y’all would like this one! How sweet are they? And pretty on any hair length.
Ponytail Twist | Love Maegan
For the eternal ponytail wearers like myself, here is a new way to wear it that is quite chic! And easy to do too - but just a warning, you will probably be just as jealous as me of Maegan’s gorgeous hair!

Side Twist Fishtail Braid | Running On Happiness
I’m not the best at creating fish tails, but that’s not going to stop me from trying! I think this might be especially easier because it’s on the side - a much easier place to access than the back of your head!
DIY Hair Necklace | The Beauty Department
I usually only post DIYs that I myself would want to do, but I gotta be honest - putting this in my hair would end up a massive, knotty disaster. But I love it so much I had to share it anyway! It reminds me of the very popular trend of long dangly ear cuffs that are everywhere at the moment. This does require a little skill - mainly using the pliers to open and close the loops of the chain - but once you get the hang of it you’ll be addicted to jewelry making and there’s no turning back! Haha!
