Strong Man Halloween Costume | Hello! Lucky
OK so I know that it’s a long way til Halloween (or a long way fromHalloween!) but this was so freakin’ adorable that I had to share! And one of the great things about this is that it’s not going to cost a mint to make - it’s a pair of leggings, a jumpsuit ‘tattooed’ with Sailor Jerry-esque designs and a faux 100 pound weight! Did I mention it’s freakin’ adorable?! Favourite this for October!
Mr & Mrs Fox Halloween Costume | Cupcake Dream at Burdastyle
OK, so this might not be a quick and easy costume but this is an amazing costume! If you can find a fox mask that you can cover in fur, it shouldn’t be too hard to find some vintagey-style clothes to dress up in. I think a lot of people would want to have photo ops with you at the Halloween party!
Glitter Pumpkins & Button Spiders | Green Eyed Monster
These are probably my favourite Halloween decorations I’ve seen so far! I adore those button spiders. I saw some pumpkins for sale at Coles (I think they’re trying to encourage Halloween here!) so I think I’m going to have a go at doing this… but they’re pretty big pumpkins, so I think I need to buy a few tons of glitter. I think I’ll do these and the painted pumpkins with my niece. Anyone else getting excited about Halloween!?
Quick Costume: Swamp Couple | Martha Stewart
If you have an old dress, a ton of plastic leaves and a hot glue gun, you can make this in under 30 minutes! I know this might sound insane but I think she looks really classy! If I had to go to a party, this would be what I would dress up as. Plus: awesome hat. You can wear this by yourself or of course you can make the man’s swamp costume too.
Quick Costume: Holly Golightly | Carry on… Carry on…
This week I’m going to feature super quick and easy Halloween costumes for y’all who are still trying to work out what you’re going to wear.
Today’s quick costume is the iconic Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffanys. The costume is based on the scene when Paul is talking to Holly. You probably recognise the sleep mask & tassled earplugs! This post has a tutorial on how to make the sleep mask. For the ear plugs you can make your own (just hot glue some tassles to ear plugs) and then pop on an oversized men’s dress shirt. Super quick, super cheap, and when you’re finished at the party you don’t even need to put on pyjamas!
Up! Halloween Costumes | More Than Words Can Say
This Halloween costume is so cute. I know that Up might not be ‘current’ but I think almost everyone would have seen Up! by now and recognise this pair. The hardest part would be Russel’s costume, but oh my gosh he’s adorable. Plus there’s a link to the merit badges used for Russel’s little sash.
Edit: Haha, sorry! Of course I meant Russel, my bad!
More Easy Halloween Costumes | Shrimp Salad Circus
Guys, it’s getting closer and closer to Halloween. I’ve posted lots of different costume ideas - have any given you some inspiration? You all went nuts for Mary Poppins (love to you guys!) If you’re looking for a cute costume but don’t want to be a ‘Sexy *insert random object here*’ (um, you know what I mean right? like… ‘Sexy Flower’ or ‘Sexy Handbag’. No rudeness intended) this link will take you through to a great round up of great costumes that you can still look amazing in whilst not having to worry about anything falling out/off/up. The Rosie the Riveter costume idea is awesome! Some people may not get the reference, but you’ll know how cool you are, and isn’t that kind of worth it?!
Halloween Costume Roundup | Instructables
OK so I’ve been getting a few messages in my inbox about some more Halloween costume ideas, so here’s a big roundup for y’all!
Silk Spectre, Uhura from Star Trek & Tinkerbell | Gianny L
Gianny has some great costumes, great if you want to be a little more on the sexy side rather than gore/horror. Most of the parts for these costumes are made from oversized tshirts. Easy to make, easy to wear!
Disco Ball, Inspector Gadget & iPod Dress
I ain’t gonna lie - I’m not sure how you’d sit down in that Disco Ball dress. These costumes are a little more time intensive but totally worth it. And the Inspector Gadget costume has a working rotator blade! Kick ass.
Lady Gaga: Spikey Shoulder, Red Hood & Bubbles | Carleyy
And of course, there’s always Lady Gaga! Carleyy has some great interpretations. I’m digging the bubbles one, but again… sitting. The Red Hood would be the easiest and all you have to do is add a long straight wig with a blunt fringe with big black sunglasses!
Mary Poppins & Bert | Keiko Lynn
Trust Keiko to come up with an easy but excellent Halloween costume! I’m assuming there are other Mary Poppins obsessives out there? Yes? Then you would understand how exciting this costume is to me! Massive bonus is having Bert as your partner! I’m not sure where you would be able to get a chimney brush but you could always make one.
Tissue Paper Ghosts | Domestifluff
Oh crap, I completely forgot to feature these last week. I’ve remembered today though, so let’s do it this week! A very easy DIY, and very cute too! I set of these dangling from your porch would be cute. I promise day 11 will come tomorrow!
Pretty Painted Pumpkins | Alisa Burke
These pumpkins are super classy. These are the kinds of pumpkins I imagine Oprah would have on her stoop. But hers would probably be made by Martha Stewart with real gold. Anyway, you can make these classy pumpkins for yourself with some great instructions from Alisa. I love the blue and pink pumpkins - they remind me of what Cinderella rode to the ball!
Glitter Pumpkin | The Swell Life
I would love to try carving pumpkins but I think that it would end with a lot of blood and a trip to the hospital to re-attach something. So I’m going for easy pumpkin DIYs, like the previously posted Glam Pumpkins and these amazing glitter pumpkins! In fact, the most effective pumpkin decorations are the easiest ones. And you get to keep all your fingers!
Ghost Costume | Sugar Bee Crafts
This is meant to be for a little girl but you could certainly make this for an adult. Great for those who are required to dress up but don’t want to go too crazy, or those on a budget.
Lichtenstein Comic Girl Halloween Costume | Illusion
If you’re looking for a high-impact Halloween costume, then this is perfect! MAC created this for Halloween which is probably why it’s so amazing. Yes, it would be time intensive, but you could guarantee there wouldn’t be anyone else at your party wearing this!
Halloween Favor Bottle | Somewhere Splendid
I promised I would share the link for these awesome bottles and here it is! I’m thinking I need to have a Halloween party just so I can give these out. The contents of these bottles is actually Pop Rocks which I love. Am I the only one who loves Pop Rocks!? The labels are a free download and there’s also a link for the little bottles used.
