Beaded Bow Headband | Trinkets In Bloom
The Melbourne Cup is coming up and we always have a hat competition at work and each year I make something to wear. For the last few years I’ve done crazy flower ones but this year I think I’m going to go classy understated! This headband is perfect because not only is it both of those things, I also already have all the stuff to make it! Though of course, mine is going to be pink…
Dolce & Gabbana Tiara | Honestly WTF
I’ve always wanted to go to a ball. And the reason for that being that I’ve always wanted to get dressed up, have my hair and makeup done… and wear a tiara! Now I doubt that I’m ever going to have an occasion to do this (though it is on my bucket list so I’m never giving up hope!) but I can still make this ‘tiara’ inspired by Dolce & Gabbana. It’s an amazing combination of ceramic flowers, pearls and rhinestones, perfect for all princesses of all ages!
Lacy Eyelet Headband | Wild Olive
I love headbands but the ones with the elastic always end up popping off my head! Also I think I have a weird shaped head and the headbands always feel like they are squeezing my head. I love that this one is not only super pretty (eyelet lace! coloured ribbon!) but you tie it on instead, meaning it’s one size fits all (even weird shaped head people!)
Flower Headband | Girls Raised By Wolves
I made a ton of these flowers a while ago with the intention of making some brooches and then… well, I probably just got interested in another craft to be honest, and they are now in the craft room… craft purgatory! I see a lot of flowery brooches now so I think I would love to make something like this instead. This would look great with a mix of floral patterned flowers and plain. Perfect Summer wear!
Sparkle Headbands | Flax & Twine
I have a love/hate relationship with headbands. I love the way they look, I hate the headaches I get from wearing them. So I settle for the nice, softer headbands, but that means I also end up with something ugly. With a pretty coloured cotton thread and some sparkly trim I can take my blah comfortable headband to a oooh! comfortable headband!
Gilded Feather Headband | ModCloth Blog
It’s gearing up to festival season here in Australia, and this headband would be perfect to go with your best dancing outfit! And I like that the braided bit looks like hair, like the feathers are knotted right into your hairdo!
50’s Style Bowtie Headband | Momtastic
This tutorial is for thefemininecopacetic who asked about a headband with a cute knot - here it is! Even better, it’s permanently tied so there’s no messing about with trying to tie the knot in the mornings! This is so cute even I might have to break out the old sewing machine to try and make this!
No Sew Braided Headbands | Alisa Burke
No sew, could any two words be sweeter?! Alisa always does the best DIYs. I’ve already done my favourite Fashion DIY sites, I think I’ll need to do my favourite accessories next. Anyway, headbands. I love headbands but I always feel like my head is in a vice when I’m wearing those cheap ones. And don’t get me started on the elastic ones - I don’t know if it’s the shape of my head but they always slide off. Is that just me?! Maybe I have a flat head. Geeze I’m off on my little tangents tonight. OK, these are really pretty and easy to make. So I’m going to make some. The end.
Looped Shamrock Headband | Fiskars
Being about… oh, one quarter Irish, I love St Patrick’s Day! I don’t drink green beer but I like making green sunshine punch and we’re going to play St Patrick’s Day bingo. I think I need to add a bit of ‘flair’ to my outfit though, but I don’t really want people kissing me, so this headband is perfect, and will go perfect with my green dress!
p.s. the Fiskars site is brilliant, check it out!
Big Bow Headband | Sew Much Love
So big, so blue, so Alice in Wonderland! This would be great for a Cup day when you want to wear a hair piece but not something you’re going to look crazy in.
Ruffled Flower Corsage Headband | Craft Passion
I always wear my hair up and I must admit, it gets old! So adding anything to my up-do always makes me feel better for my laziness. I think I love this headband the most because of the corsage style flower. Oh, and the lace!
