Studded Kitten Heels | I Spy DIY
OK, first of all - I love the combo of this skirt/jacket/heels. So soft and yet tough too! Second, there have been so many kick ass shoe DIYs out there right now. A few years ago kitten heels were my passion so I have many sitting in my cupboard collecting dust (for some reason I just can’t throw out shoes!) just begging for a studdly makeover!
I’m hoping to go on a cruise at the end of the year, and doesn’t this scarf look perfect for relaxing on a deck, sipping…. diet coke…. and reading a magazine?! Actually it would be perfect for any kind of travel - gorgeous enough to dress up a tshirt and jeans and great to wrap around you when the flight temperature reaches below zero. If you don’t want to make a scarf from scratch, use one you already have and get fringe to match it. I Spy DIY does it again!
I just got the I Spy DIY book so I’ve been all over the blog right now because I’m so in love with everything Jenni does! Her projects are incredibly wearable and easy to make. This little faux fur tail is so fun and yep, I love her nails too. Go out and buy her book now, you won’t regret it!
If your pre-New Year resolution is to bring more colour and fun into your wardrobe, you can’t go past a pinky coral sweater with pom poms! I just love the colour, does anyone know where to get this from?! If you’re feeling adventurous you could go for bigger poms or a black jumper with glittery poms! Oooh, pom-tastic.
I’ve always been jealous of those fashion girls who know how to perfectly put together their outfits. Whenever I try to layer I just end up looking like I went crazy and put on all my clothes at once! This is a great guide on how to do it so you look stylish and not crazy - I love that sparkly skirt with the jacket & boots, it really dresses down a usually fancy skirt!
Inspiration to Reality: Embellished Sweater | I Spy DIY
I’ve spoken before about DIY blogs and their ability to pick up on trends before I see them in stores. I Spy DIY is one of my favourite blogs, and she is ahead of the pack when it comes to this! Right now Embellished Sweaters are everywhere. I’m pretty much in love with that jacket in the first picture, but the ISD version is also amazing. Did I mention the easiness of creating this… which means you can knock up a couple for each day of the week!
Fab 5 Gymnast Costume | I Spy DIY
If you’re wanting to go as a group costume for Halloween then this is a perfect idea! Not only is it easy to create but you also get to make gold medals - perfect for photo ops!
Neon Wrap Bracelet | I Spy DIY
Well it looks like neon is here to stay - it stayed through Winter and will be a mainstay for Summer! Here is a perfect way to add a bit of neon punch to your outfit if you’re not keen on wearing it on your clothes with a easy wrap bracelet. Do a few and stack them up!
Scarves are quite big in my office right now - you’ll find at least three people wearing one on any given day! I personally love them - they dress up an otherwise boring outfit in a snap and the heating/cooling in the office can go from 10 degrees to 30 in an hour so it’s great for maintaing comfort too! This fringe scarf is no sew - just heat bond, coordinating fringe and you’re done!
Chain Bracelet | I Spy DIY for Refinery 29
I’m pretty sure the knotting in this project is macrame - if someone knows please comment! Anyway, irregardless of what type of knotting this is, it’s adorable! If you don’t want to use suede or can’t find it, you could use thick cord, cotton thread, or even that plastic cord you made bracelets out of when you were a kid!
Jewellery DIYs
I’ve been making so many earrings, necklaces and bracelets lately I have been looking for inspiration everywhere for more ideas. So here’s a roundup of some of my favourite pieces. I particularly love the accordion necklace though it’s taken me a bit of practice to learn how to do the folding!

Embellished Tee | I Spy DIY
There’s nothing better than a DIY that looks super chic but is super easy. If you want to make a similar top, MJ Trim is the go-to place for appliques. They have a massive range that will spice up any tee! I have bought a couple of plain tees that I’m planning on decorating this weekend - I will take some photos to share!
Color Wrap Bracelet | I Spy DIY
I Spy DIY is one of my favourite DIY blogs and she has just released a DIY book - pick one up if you can! I love this DIY mainly because it’s one of those crafts you can make in front of the TV! Plus colour blocking is still super trendy right now. Make them in lots of colours and stack them up!
Tribal Necklace | I Spy DIY
Tribal anything is on my mind at the moment- I love the bright colours, the geometric shapes, and the silver details. I love this necklace, though of course it would take a while to make. But if you bought something similar to this in the stores I’m sure it would set you back a lot more. If you don’t love the colour combo, you can of course change it around too. I’m thinking of making this for Christmas day to go with my new dress, I’m sure I’ll get compliments! Haha!
Wrapped Hoop Earrings | I Spy DIY
You probably remember this wrapping style from a previous post where they wrapped a necklace. When I saw these hoops it was like - of course! Why didn’t I think of that!? They look gorgeous with this style - how cool would it be to have a stack of wrapped earrings to match whatever outfits you have?! And seriously, there are a million different colours of cotton skein. You should be able to get diamante chain like this from craft stores or online.
