Gold Leather Hairpin | My Little Fabric
We’ve missed out on quite a few Quick Saturday Crafts, so here is one for Sunday night! Decorating hairpins is so easy and so much fun to wear when they look like this. Geometric shapes are everywhere at the moment but I seem to see them only in neon so this sweet pale pink/gold combo is really pretty. Of course you can make them in any colour you want - great to use up scraps of fabric you have left over!
Matthew Williams Inspired Pom Pom Clutch | Court & Hudson
One of my favourite aisles in Spotlight is the trim aisle! I love pom pom trim the most. But as much as I love them I find it hard to think of how to use it. This clutch is perfect - a while ago I bought a plain clutch that could definitely use some pizazz! And I love anything by Matthew Williams so this is ticking all the boxes!
Color Block Tassel Necklace | Wear The Canvas
Colour blocking is still everywhere at the moment, and the beauty of it is that you can wear the pieces with almost everything in your closet! This is such a simple piece to make, and even if you don’t want it as a necklace you can make it into a bag charm, a bracelet dangle or even add to a belt.
Polymer Clay Bead Necklace | Delighted Momma
I’ve been poring over Delighted Momma’s DIYs and am now obsessed with polymer clay. I love the colours she has used in this one, perfect Spring colours. I’m going to try making the large round beads, but the combo of the small beads with the large ones does look cool! Don’t get stressed about it being super perfect, a little imperfection shows that it’s hand made and not mass produced!
Pony Tail Holder Necklace | Madigan Made
Here’s another re-fashion of an everyday item into something fabulous! MM actually sanded some of the plastic balls to create a matte effect with the shiny plastic. A really pretty, neutral necklace that only costs a few dollars to make!
Seed Bead Necklace | Design Mom
Seed bead necklaces are one of the simplest necklaces to make with the most impact. What makes this one special is the little gold tube beads interspersed in the beads! The colours used in this mix is so pretty, and they work so well with the gold. If you don’t dig pink and gold, try green and silver or even blue and bronze.
Chanel Pearl Hairpins | Honestly WTF
Remember those hair things in the 90’s that were like a gem or butterfly with a circular piece of metal that you twisted into your hair? What were they called?! I just remember seeing Rachel wearing them on Friends and deciding I needed them straight away! These remind me of those, but a lot classier (cos they’re inspired by Chanel!) Super cute and perfect for dressing up short or long hair (the best kind of accessory!)
Neon Friendship Bracelets | The Purl Bee
What makes friendship bracelets even cooler? Add some neon of course! this neon trend just won’t die (hey, I’m not complaining!) and if you want to add some of it to your outfit without spending a ton of cash, this is the way to go. Plus, friendship bracelets are everywhere these days, so you’ll be ahead of the fashion curve!
Hair Bow | Fine & Feathered
This is such a cute bow and I love the fabric pattern! Quick and easy to whip up, meaning you can make multiple at once. You should be able to get plain hair clips from craft stores or online. This would also be great to use as shoe clips (which you can get on etsy) Just make two in the same fabric and clip them on your favourite pair of plain shoes to quickly dress them up.
Ruffle Necklace | Ruffles & Stuff
I’m a sucker for sweet, soft jewelry. Ruffles and Stuff always has such beautiful crafts, and this is no exception. Easy to make and easy to wear too, I would wear this with my favourite flowery top. Hopefully these Summery days will last just a little longer so I get a chance to wear it!
Hex Nut Wrap Bracelet | Henry Happened
For a few dollars you can create this wrap bracelet - some pretty lightweight fabric and a couple of hex nuts from the hardware store - or you can buy it for $36 from J Crew! Crazy!
Fur Pom Pom Hair Tie | Sauvages
I may have cut my hair short but I would still love to make a hair tie like this for my niece who still has enough hair to pull back! If you don’t have some spare faux fur laying around you could always try your local craft store - you don’t need a lot!
Golden Geometric Necklace | Sincerely, Kinnsey
I’m loving all the neon and geometric styles out at the moment so this necklace is right up my street! This is a very cheap necklace to make, all you need is chain, jump rings in the same colour as the chain and… paint chips! That’s right, paint chips! Seriously awesome.
Plumbing Supply Bracelet | Style Hurricane
Does anyone else like to hang out in hardware stores? No? Just me?! I particularly like looking at all the bathroom fixtures! Also the paint colours, all the wood bits and pieces… I can’t say I’ve ever stood in the plumbing supply aisle and thought ‘wow, these would make great bracelets!’ But they really are great bracelet bits, and I love it with the all black outfit. These would also look great strung together as a necklace.
Colourblock Earrings | Delighted Momma
I love any DIY project that uses thread because I love spending time picking out colours! I went to a larger Spotlight than my normal one the other day and I also discovered… metallic thread! Woo! It costs more than the normal threads but it looks gorgeous in projects. I’m going to make these earrings for my sister’s upcoming birthday.
