There are tons of cake stand DIYs out there - probably because they are so super easy to make and nice to use - but this one really takes the cake. Puntastic! Haha! Anyway, a peruse through my house you will know how much I love owls (and er… cake) so I will be on the lookout on the weekend for a cheapo one I can pick up from a $2 store. Then I just need a delicious pink cake to top it with!
The Pretty Blog has another gorgeous free set of labels for your kitchen, this time you can download them in (I think!) German as well as English! If you’re like me and kind of anal about labeling and sorting things, then you will be as excited about these as me! Also check out the previous gorgeous freebie labels available from TPB here.
Cake Stand | The Crafting Chicks
If you’re looking for something a bit more rustic and sturdy than the usual dainty floral plate cake stands, you can’t go past this beauty! I do love the floral cake stands but I find it hard to find nice plates that are cheap. This cake stand on the other hand is made using old cake tins which you can get super cheap at the Salvos. I would love to make this for my mum who has a really beautiful French Country style house. I think it would fit in perfectly! And maybe one for myself too…
Measuring Cup Organiser | Infarrantly Creative
Wherever single socks go, I believe that measuring cups and spoons also go! I always buy new sets, put them dutifully back in the drawer and then… they disappear. That might have something to do with the fact that the drawers are usually packed with other junk. Having a hanging set like this is like having a shadow board for your tools. Plus there’s a great second part to this DIY which is a vinyl sticker with a conversion chart!
Magnetic Chalkboard Spice Rack | Cook-Love-Craft
A couple of years ago I inherited some cooking items, which included some spices. From 1987. They were thrown out of course, but it made me realise that when you pop your spices in the cupboard, it’s a bit like ‘out of sight, out of mind’. Not only is this spice rack pretty, but it means you’ll be able to see what spices you have right away, and that means better food!
Baby Food Jar Spice Pots | adelynSTONE
If my life this year had a theme it would be ‘Get Organised’. This month’s get organised theme is ‘Clean Up The Bloody Kitchen’. Firstly, I need to get rid of all the crap in my cupboards. My kitchen is small but there are a ton of cupboards, most of which are filled with hand me downs, Christmas detritous and half eaten packets of crisps. I’ve been trying to think of ways to DIY the storage because frankly, kitchen storage is a rip off. Four dollars for a small plastic container!? I think the first thing I’ll do is these containers. What I like is that because it’s got chalkboard paint on top you can change up what you keep in the container. Plus there’s a great DIY for making your own coloured chalk board paint! Easy. Maybe I could also paint my cupboards iwth chalk board paint… hmmm…
Vinyl Chalkboard | Ashley Ann Photography
I love all Ashley Ann’s DIYs, but this one is so cool I knew you would love it! I know I’ve complained about vinyl stickers being a little ‘done’ but vinyl chalkboard has opened my eyes to new possibilities! And liquid chalk - oh my gosh, when did they make this!? I need to hunt some down because I know my niece would love them and the clean up is going to be sooo much easier.
DIY Authentic Vintage Paper Labels | Eat, Drink, Chic!
Eat, Drink, Chic! is the most amazing blog. There are so many DIY’s on her site that I will share later, but for now, here are these adorable Dried Herb labels. I think this would make a very cheap and lovely gift, especially a last minute gift - zero effort, maximum effect!
