Giddy Aunt, this amazing lamp is made from masking tape! Maybe it’s not permanent but it’s fun, and the lovely glow it gives is even better.
Though there isn’t a step by step tutorial on how to create this piece, it is still a great inspiration for what you can do. Using an old globe with the map peeled off, a globe is then screwed in to the base to create a truly individual piece. Love it!
Industrial Style Lamp | IKEA Hackers
It amazes me some people’s creativity and their ability to look at something like a mirror frame, old candlestick and a tin and think - hey that would make a great lamp! It seems quite easy to use and would look amazing turned on! Something like this would cost so much if you bought it vintage (or even brand new) but with the few items you need to make it you can have the style at a fraction of the cost!
Glitter Lamp Shade | Stars For Streetlights
I know I seem slightly obsessed with covering things with glitter, but hey, I’m a girl who knows what she wants! I also really love thisĀ owl lamp! I’m pretty sure I’ve seen everything there is to Mod Podge & glitter now… though I haven’t seen a chair done. Maybe I need to do that myself?!
Book Book Light | Grathio Labs
Do I love this? Yes. Yes I do. Do I think I could make this? No. No I don’t. Do I think I could convince my Dad to make one of these for me?
Um, maybe?!
Pom Pom Lamp | Ruffles & Stuff
Another genious idea - this pom pom lamp is made from a microwave plate cover, some tulle and a strand of twinkle lights. I love how it looks like a dandelion, sweet and perfect for a little girls room.
Hardware Store Decor | DIY Life
I like going through Hardware stores almost as much as I like going through Craft stores! There’s so much I want to buy - new door handles, shower fittings, tools, plants, pots, paint, etc! But I never look at things and think - could that make a good base for a coffee table!? I will now!
Woven Lamp | Poppytalk
I’ve seen lamps like this in stores for hundreds of dollars - why would you pay that if you could make your own for a few dollars?! I think this would also look great as a really big chandelier style ball. Massive impact for little cost, that’s what I’m all about!
CD Lamp | DIY Life
CD’s, your demise is coming. I can’t remember when I last bought a cd, mainly because I don’t even own a cd player, and also because they’re more expensive than just buying mp3s. I’ve now ripped all my cds to my computer, but I’ve still kept my discs. They’re like books, I just can’t throw them out. I’e seen lots of DIYs with cds, but nothing I would actually put in my house. But I love this DIY, the lamp has retro style and actually looks quite classy! Buying a pair of lamps that looked like this and were actually glass would set you back quite a bit, and I alwys love DIYs that surprise people - ‘Oh, the lamp? Yes, I made it out of my Elton John collection. I call it the Can You See The Lamp Tonight’.
p.s. I’m ashamed of that joke.
