If you decide to make these sugar scrub bars, make sure you don’t leave them sitting around…they look so much like the real thing that I worry someone is going to try to eat it! Usually beauty recipes like this take a lot of ingredients you need to order or go to a specialty shop to buy but all of the products in this you should be able to get from a health food shop!
Lemon Scrub | Momtastic
These lemon sugar scrub containers look so delicious that I would have to make sure that it was swiftly moved to the bathroom so that it doesn’t accidentally get spread on toast. Though if you didn’t add the liquid soap you probably could put it on soap… wait, no, don’t do that! I love to use body scrub - it makes your skin so clean and fresh, just make sure you moisturise afterwards!
Gold Dot Napkins & Gold Dipped Wine Glasses | Momtastic/Say Yes! To Hoboken
Both these DIYs are made by the lovely Liz of Say Yes! To Hoboken who also posts on Momtastic. Both of these crafts would be great not only for your own home, but they would be lovely as hostess gifts instead of the usual flowers. But really, I would love to dip my glasses in gold, how fancy!
50’s Style Bowtie Headband | Momtastic
This tutorial is for thefemininecopacetic who asked about a headband with a cute knot - here it is! Even better, it’s permanently tied so there’s no messing about with trying to tie the knot in the mornings! This is so cute even I might have to break out the old sewing machine to try and make this!
Sequin Shoe Clip | Momtastic
If you’ve wanted to try making your own shoe clips but were put off with the fact that you have to buy shoe clips, then you’re in luck. These are made with paper clips! So pretty. And if you don’t like sequins you can use a different type of ribbon.
Banana Cream Pie-sicles | Momtastic
So apparently it’s really hot in the States at the moment, which makes me thankful for the freezing weather we are currently having in Adelaide at the moment (think: ice on cars. This does not happen normally!) I do feel bad for you. Up there on my top ten list of ‘things I truly hate’ is hot weather. I don’t mean nice, warm, sunny days, I mean 40 degree heat days (celsius) where it feels like the heat is wrapped around you and your cheap shoes from Target melt on the hot bitumen. Ugh. So, as my kind of ‘I feel your pain’ gift, may I present one of the most delicious recipes ever, ‘Banana Cream Pie-sicles’. Yum. It may be 4 degrees here, but I think I’ll sit by my heater and eat one of these.
Honey Butter Recipe | Momtastic
I’ve featured a post on how to make butter before by putting cream in a jar and shake-shake-shaking it til it turns to butter. But if that seems like too much effort, this is an easier way of doing it - using a beater! This is so cool - you beat it until buttermilk forms then squeeze the liquid to make your own butter. Apparently fresh butter is the yummiest stuff in the world so I’m really keen on trying it. Mmm, fresh butter on fresh bread. Is anyone else hungry?!
Sunglass Bag | Momtastic
This is a really simple craft but for some reason I totally love it! If you’re trying to make a ton of presents that are cheap and quick to make, look no further. You could use the same stencil on each bag or go for different glasses for each bag - maybe some cat eye glasses, some Elton glasses too?!
