I can’t believe it’s almost the end of Winter! And with the end of Winter comes that weird in-between weather where it’s too hot for a jumper and too cold for a tshirt. Wraps are the best thing to keep in your bag - and these fringed kimonos are super pretty, easy to make and no sewing is involved! You can go and buy your fabric and coordinating fringe from the craft store, or you can head on over to Wander & Hunt and buy yourself a kit.
This DIY is for the very patient Miss Ferrous who requested a tutorial on how to turn a men’s shirt into a dress! I had found one… then lost it… then found an even better one! The beauty of this tutorial is that it’s no sew, which a lot of the refashions are. And even better, the video featured on Strawberry Koi has multiple refashions, so you can make yourself a couple of dresses, a few skirts or tops from the one shirt!
Draped Skirt | NSMBL
This skirt requires: absolutely no sewing! In fact, all it requires is a tuck, twist and tuck. If you’re not keen on it being mini, just keep your fabric a little longer. Get your fabric in a nice stretchy jersey. Plus if you get a little extra, you can make a scarf, a wrap…
No Sew Scalloped Shorts | Here’s Looking At Me Kid
One thing I get asked a lot about is no sew projects. And I try to look for good tutorials but they’re actually hard to find! But when I came across this I knew that there would be a few of you who would love it. Once you’ve created your scallops all you need to do is finish the edges with Fray Check. Fabric Tassle Garland | Prudent Baby
Hallways are so hard to decorate, amirite? Haha! I’ve tried lots of different things but nothing has the pizzaz I want. I was thinking of hanging pictures but… blah. I truly adore this tassle garland, and bonus no sewing! I’m on a no sewing kick tonight. If you’re looking for inspiration colours wise, check out the much coveted Confetti System. Yikes, $130 for something like this?! I do love the pinks & peaches garland, I wonder who I would make the gold tassles?
No Sew Braided Headbands | Alisa Burke
No sew, could any two words be sweeter?! Alisa always does the best DIYs. I’ve already done my favourite Fashion DIY sites, I think I’ll need to do my favourite accessories next. Anyway, headbands. I love headbands but I always feel like my head is in a vice when I’m wearing those cheap ones. And don’t get me started on the elastic ones - I don’t know if it’s the shape of my head but they always slide off. Is that just me?! Maybe I have a flat head. Geeze I’m off on my little tangents tonight. OK, these are really pretty and easy to make. So I’m going to make some. The end.
No Sew (or little sew…) Tshirt Projects | For Ariea
I’m sorry this took so long Ariea, but hopefully it’s worth it!
These are all only cut, no sew projects, and I have to say the tank vest is my favourite - great for layering!
OK, so these have sewing in them, but only minimal, I swear! It would be quicker to sew by machine but if you don’t have a machine, you can hand sew too. The pain is worth it!
This is my last one, and dare say - the easiest - so I think I’m going to try making this one myself!
All you need for this one is a dark tshirt and a bleach pen! Oh and a little creativeness! The ones pictured are inspired by Hungarian designs, but I think they look a little IKEAish don’t you?
Well that’s it, I hope one of these inspired you! If you make any I’d love to see photos!
No-Sew Suede Skirt | Martha Stewart
This is the cutest skirt ever! And no sew! And suede! And scalloped! This might be the most exclamation marks I’ve ever used in a post. I’m that excited about it. I love the little kind of gather at the waist. And suede is great because it won’t fray. There are lots of suede projects on Martha, so check the rest out. I’m going to go buy some suede tomorrow. Expect to see me in this skirt soon Adelaide!
DIY Wrap Turned Scarf | Behind The Seams
Finally a project that I cannot screw up because it has no sewing whatsoever! Woo! And it’s so cute and so versatile. As I’ve said before, the weather here is nuts at the moment and I need something that I can switch up. Today it was freezing in the morning, then by the afternoon I was ripping off my cardy because it was so hot. WTF weather!? Anyway, the wrap scarf. This needs a new name that combines the two: wraf? Scrap? Scrawf? Warpf? I think I like Scrawf. I’m going to make myself a Srawf this weekend.
Poopy Clutch | I Still Love You
So… yeah. I don’t know why this is called a Poopy clutch but it’s so pretty and simple it could be called anything and I’d still share it! Plus - no sew. There’s the best part. Though I cannot find pleather anywhere in Adelaide to save my life - does anyone have any suggestions?
No-Sew Footstool | In My Own Style
That’s right, no sewing! My kind of project! I think my mum would also love this - we have very similar style. This little stool would look great in front of my dresser in my bedroom. And maybe in my lounge room. And it would be so useful in the bathroom. Give me a no sew project and suddenly the possibilities are endless!
