I love the idea of having an Easter tradition of getting everyone to make their own Easter bonnet! And Oh Happy Day delivers with instructions on how to make the perfect ones. These combine everything about Spring & Easter to me - ribbon, pastel, flowers - like happiness for your head! Love times a million!
These are freakin’ adorable! So good to have with your coffee, or even with a chocolate mousse or ice cream. Now just to find a spoon cookie cutter…
Though I’m a grown up, I still think that these alphabet letters are still awesome! So comfy, soft and fun. These would also be great for a wedding - do your initials and use them for photo props!
Hang Up The Garland!
There’s nothing sweeter to decorate a space than a garland. And there are so many great DIYs out there that there’s a style to suit any space. Here are three of my favourites:
You guys might remember from ages ago the giant version of this mini marquee from Oh Happy Day? Well I thought I loved that one - but the mini one is even better! So many possibilities for using this marquee - from weddings and parties to decorating any room of your house!
OHP is one of my favourite DIY sites and she’s created a great round up of some of her best Christmas DIY crafts. For something fun on Christmas day I think I’m going to print out those party photo props!
Ok, so these are ‘little’ artist costumes (which are so freakin’ adorable I can barely take it!) but of course these are so easy to create that ‘bigs’ can make these too! Personally I adore the Frieda Kahlo outfit but the Vincent Van Gogh is hilarious!
One thing I love to do but am always terrible at is cake decorating! I always see pictures of these delicious cakes and think - I could totallydo that - and they always promise that it’s so easy! Well when I saw this cake I thought, ‘Easy? Yeah right’. But once I actually saw this tutorial I thought - hmm, maybe I coulddo that! Yes, it would take more than the usual slap dash 5 minute icing job, but if you’re wanting to make a cake for a special occasion then this would be perfect. Plus don’t you think it looks even more delicious?!
Vintage Marquee DIY | Oh Happy Day
Wow, this is an amazing DIY! This marquee is made out of poster board, foam core and string lights. Not only would this be great for parties or weddings but how cool would this be as decoration in your house? Perfect for your tv room or make your name for your bedroom.
Giant Fringe Garland | Oh Happy Day
A friend of mine is getting married soon and is doing it on a super tight budget. That means things like decorations need to be super cheap. This garland is a perfect way to decorate because it fills up the space but the cost is so minimal - all you need is crepe paper!
Book Cover From A Vintage Painting | Oh Happy Day
Oh Happy Day is one of my favourite blogs - I wish I could be as creative as her! I think I’ve reblogged almost all of her DIYs. This craft is no exception - using one of those $2 paintings you always find in second hand stores. How nice would this be to give as a gift? Try to find a painting that matches your book - a sea print for 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, a countryside painting for a copy of Emma! A cheap gift with a lot of impact.
Kids’ Hot Air Balloon Photo booth | Oh Happy Day
How adorable is this!? And such a good idea - it’s hard enough to get kids to sit and get a photo taken let alone when you involve props. This way you can pop your little one in the basket and snap away. I wish I could make one for adults - how cool would that be for a wedding?!
Water Bottle Chandelier | Oh Happy Day
There are lots of things you can upcycle but water bottles aren’t something that pop into mind (well apart from refilling with water!) But this chandelier is amazing - colourful, pretty and easy to make! Perfect for a kids bedroom or anywhere really!
Bride & Bridesmaids Kits | Oh Happy Day
Oh Happy Day is always creating amazing DIYs, and her wedding kits are no exception! Giving a kit to your Bride is a great idea, it means she’ll have all the things she needs in a pinch without someone having to ruffle through their bag or a run to the shops! And as a Bride it is always nice to give something to your Bridesmaids - and a handmade gift is even more special.
Picnic Baskets & Free Printable | Oh Happy Day
I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to go out and have a picnic… whilst it was pouring with rain! I think winter is finally here. But for y’all who are still having lovely weather this is a really fun project. The little individual bags are so cute and quite easy to put together - no glue or tape required! Oh boy I could really go a nice cold lemonade and dip with vegetable sticks right now!
