I just bought a book I’d been eyeing for a while on how to make paper flowers. Though I’m in love with all the different designs, it can be quite hard to follow some of the directions (and get some of the supplies!). Not so with Lia’s gorgeous paper flowers. Each flower has clear, step by step instructions, plus photos. And all her flowers come with free download patterns (some of them are also designed to be printed straight off with the pattern on there - bonus!). And there are lots of uses for something like this, including popping them on top of your Christmas gifts, or even attaching them to your Christmas tree - how pretty would that look!?
I know these are meant to be for kids but the design is too adorable and fun I had to share! I particularly love the toucan, I might have to download that one for myself!
Embossing Tools | Lemon Jitters
Aren’t these cards gorgeous?! The thing about die-cutting machines like this one (called the Cuttlebug) is that they can also do things like embossing. There are quite a few machines that you can get that make these and depending on the brand you can get lots of different dies for the embossing. Perfect if you are a serious scrapbooker or you’re looking to getting into a new craft!
Paper Quilt | Linda & Harriett
I would love to make a quilt, but I’m going to be honest: I wouldn’t finish it. In all honesty, I’m a bit frenetic when it comes to my crafting. I’ll fall in love with something, do it constantly, pick something else up, go back to the first thing, find another thing… I would probably get about half way and give up. But a paper quilt. Not only would it be easy to make, but quick too (apart from cutting out the squares of course) There’s no set DIY here but you can get the idea from the picture. Design House Digital has a great selection of digital scrapbook paper that you can download and print out. This would be a really nice craft to make for a baby’s room!
DIY Flowers | I Scrap U Scrap
If I ever wrote a DIY book, it would be all about decorating for renters. Magazines always have splashes on the front ‘Decorate your room for $50!’ and excitedly you flip to the page to find out… it’s about painting the walls. Yeah, thanks for that magazine. Renters want beautiful rooms for $50 too you know! Well how about a bunch of these flowers splashed across the wall? Attach with some blu-tac or 3M stickers and you have an art piece that would make any home owner jealous!
