As usual, the weather is really weird here at the moment. It will start out cold in the morning, get warm, then get colder again in the afternoon. Too warm to wear a cardy, too cold to go short sleeves. Damn you weather! I like wearing big scarves because it means I can wrap them around me if I get really cold and they look fab. I have a ton of pom poms laying around (surprised?!) so it will be easy to make too.

Pom Pom Shoe Clips | Transient Expression
A while ago I bought a ton of shoe clips (hmm, where are they!?) and I had heaps of fun working out what I could glue to them! I made pom poms with wool but I never thought of making them with chiffon - though it seems kind of obvious now! I’ve also tried fabric flowers, sequined flowers… I’ve even been checking out cheap brooches from places like Equip and Diva. They’re great to give as gifts and if you’re like me and constantly changing what you love, they save a lot of money!

Another genious idea - this pom pom lamp is made from a microwave plate cover, some tulle and a strand of twinkle lights. I love how it looks like a dandelion, sweet and perfect for a little girls room.

So I know that PomPoms are quickly becoming the chinese take out boxes of weddings (i.e. it’s been done!) I still love their pretty simplicity and the fact that they are cheap and easy to make bulk of. When you’re on a budget, that’s a big factor! And how effective do they look en masse? Easy!

Oh I wish it was Winter. Not that this summer has been really hot, but I still hate any day that is over 20 degrees! Winter is my favourite, Autumn comes in a close second, Spring is tollerated and Summer is not looked forward to at all. I think in preperation for Winter (and in some way trying to encourage it to come earlier) I think I’ll make these pom pom socks. I still have a lot left over from my original pom pom tutorials post! In fact they’re kind of floating around the house like miniature tumble weeds…
