This year I decided to start learning French, so I know that ‘Pochette Kitty’ means Kitty Purse. Progress! I’m keen to make this adorable purse for my niece who is a very stylish young lady and loves cats as much as I do, and is in her ‘accessorizing’ phase! Lucille has some amazing DIYs so if you head over to check this out make sure you see her other projects & art too.
Needlepoint Purse | Craft
Needlepoint is one of those crafts that I’ve never attempted because it’s really just… so old fashioned! Same with macrame. But after seeing this bag I’ve changed my mind! I especially love the colours used in this bag. This would be perfect for carrying all my crafty things when I travel - magazines, thread, etc. Now to find a cool macrame project to get me inspired!
Christian Louboutin Inspired Purse | Carry On… Carry On…
Speaking of Christmas, how about this jingly purse for your holiday parties!? I’m a sucker for anything shiny (see: all previous posts!) and add noise and I’m set. As Amanda says in her tutorial, this is a made to order piece and is probably insanely expensive, but the DIY version is anything but. Perfect to add a bit of glitz to your LBD.
Birdie Fringe Purse | A Beautiful Mess
Some people are super lucky when it comes to vintage finds. They seem to find gorgeous flippy 50’s sundresses, stunning dress jewelry from the 20’s and the coolest platforms from the 70’s. And all for ‘like, $3!’. Ugh, I just want to slap them. And steal their shoes. For the rest of us, we can always try making vintage style bags! I love this little birdie bag. It’s like something you’d have made in Brownies for a badge or right at the bottom of a creepy bin at the Salvos. And if anyone asks where you got it, just say ‘oh, you know, from this little vintage store in New York, you wouldn’t know it, BYE’ and then run away.
Coin Purse | Between The Lines
You may have seen this little coin purse on Tumblr before, it blew up! This is a bit of an update for the purse, adding a long handle and some pretty jewels. I think I would make this a bit bigger so that I could also pop in my keys and phone, and the tutorial is so easy to follow that this would be a cinch!
Survival Kit | Tidy Mom
I keep finding all these awesome tutorials tonight! This is so clever and perfect for taking on the plane now that everything has to be in baggies anyway. This is made from a pot holder and baggies! You sew them inside and then add a button so you can keep it closed, and you also get an extra pocket on the front. If I get time I might try and make one of these before next Monday for my mum and sister who are flying to Bali… jealous! But they promised to get me something so that kind of makes it OK!
Clutch Purse with Antique Pin Closure | BHG
This is such a pretty clutch! And you can never have too many clutches, they’re perfect for weddings & parties, and it’s best to have lots in different colours so you always have a matching one!
Ms Lipsie The Pocket Girl | Lia’s Crafty Journal
How hilarious is this little coin pocket!? This would definetly encourage me to put my coins somewhere safe rather than chucking them into my bag and then scrambling for them and annoying customers behind me.
