Felt Ball Rug | Instructables
I’ve admired the amazing creations by Little Lamb for years. I’ve always wanted one of their felt ball rugs (‘freckle’ rugs!) but couldn’t justify spending over $1000 on a rug. But making my own rug seems a little cheaper and I get to choose the colours to put into it. Pastels maybe?!
Polka Dot Rug | A Beautiful Mess
The rug in my lounge room is manky. Does anyone else use this word? Basically it means a little bit messy, worn out. It used to be a lovely shag rug but years of hot glue, glitter, chips and sewing needles means that it has seen better days! I was thinking of getting a new one and putting the manky one under my dining table, then I remembered how messy my family & friends get and reconsidered! I would still love a blanket under my dining table and when I saw this I thought - OK, I need to buy TWO new blankets! This would be perfect for the dining room and I love the big spots (though they will have to be pink!) As for the manky rug - I think it will be moved to a spare room!
Friendship Bracelet Chevron Rug | The House That Lars Built
(edit: sorry guys, wrong pic! I’ve updated with the right one!)
Sometimes I think that the internet hears what I say… just yesterdayI posted that awesome DIY from Design Sponge on the friendship bracelet chair pad and mentioned that it would be cool to make a rug. Well here it is! And I was right, it isawesome! Not sure if I would attempt a giant one, but as a door mat this is perfect. And I very much love the colours used! Right, weekend project decided!
Rope Rug | Free People Blog
I ain’t gonna lie folks - this would take a long time to make! But it’s also one of the most amazing rugs I’ve seen, and I’m so amazed that they did a tutorial. If you’re not keen on making a million to stitch together, you could always make a giant version of one of the round ones. Personally I would love to make something like this for my hallway, it really needs something bright and fun.
DIY Area Rug by Finding My Aloha | Blue Cricket Designs
One thing I hate more than anything (that’s right, hate!) is rug ads. Always screaming how cheap things are, constant sales, always going out of business! For goodness sakes people, if they’re so hard to sell then why did you go into business? (I know it’s marketing, but it still gives me the poos). But more than anything, I hate how much rugs cost. They can add so much to a room but sometimes it feels like it would be cheaper just to put down carpet.
So this rug is different, because it’s actually made out of four smaller rugs! Because of the shaginess of the rug and the fact that it’s more of a decorative feature (underneath the coffee table) it doesn’t really matter! And of course, those little rugs are quite cheap to buy so you could make it for less than $100. And for those of us (including myself) who want the look but not the cost, this is perfect!
Pom Pom Rug | Lion Brand Yarn
OK, quickly: how cute is that baby?!
Now that’s out of the way, how cute is this rug?! This is one of my favourite posts in a long time. Pom poms are so easy to make, and trust me, this would feel so nice underfoot! Plus, you can customise it to fit in with your decor. Get started on your pom poms folks!
DIY Chevron Rug | A Beach House In The City
I’m pretty sure I’ve featured a chevron rug before but I love this so much that I had to feature it! A Beach House In The City is an amazing blog, this is just one of the gorgeous DIYs featured on there. And for some reason, chevron anything is hard to find in Adelaide. I think I’m going to do this for my bathroom!
Faux Sheepskin Cloud Rug | Lifelix
This is so cute! I would love to make a few of these for down my hall way, walking from cloud to cloud in the morning! And the floors - the more I see white floors, the more I want to paint mine white. Hmm. I need to convince my Landlord Dad. Any ideas?!
Hula Hoop Rug | Disney Family Fun
So I know this is from a Disney website, but how cool is it?! So I wouldn’t do it with bright colours, but I’m thinking pink and white or pale blue and white? I think I need to do this ASAP!
DIY Chevron Rug | High Heeled Foot In The Door
I don’t know about the rest of the world, but one thing you can always count on in Australia is that there will always be rug sales, and the adverts will be loud and annoying! I watch these adds and think - ‘They’re still to expensive, no matter how loud you yell!’. So I was very inspired by this DIY, it only cost $55 to make and you can make it with any fabric you like!
