Do you have a song, poem or story you hold dear to your heart? Well now you can wrap it round you in the form of this pretty printed word scarf. Such a simple idea yet so effective - and perfect to give as a gift to a friend!
This Winter I’ve been basically wearing the same thing - dress, cardy, leggings, boots and a giant scarf. But I’ve been looking for some new scarves to wear and coming up short - the ones I adore are so expensive. So I’m going to head down to my local Spotlight and get some cute fabric and trim and create this gorge scarf… ok, maybe three gorge scarves!
All I can say about this DIY is - WOW! That is on of the most amazing patterns I’ve ever seen. Though this DIY will take a few dollars to get all the ingredients, imagine all the patterns and styles you could create - and make not only scarves but fabric to make bags, purses, skirts… If anyone tries this I would love to see the outcome and know if it was hard/easy.
Have you ever had a craft party? It’s a great way to get together with your friends to create, gossip and eat! This is a good project to do as a group - there’s not a lot of skill needed, it’s easy to get the materials and every time you wear your scarf you’ll have fond memories!
Is the galaxy print cool anymore? Do kids still say that? Cool? Well I don’t care cos I still love it. And the DIY version is so easy and fun to make. The best part is, each version is going to be different and you don’t have to be artistic to do it - it’s a galaxy, none are perfect as we all know! Plus - great last minute Christmas presents!
Though I’ve loved a lot of dyeing projects, my attempts have been very, very poor. But this project is so simple that I’m sure even someone as clumsy as me can create this! Just fold, dip, drip and dry! Easy. Make a few in varying colours and share or hoard!
Even though I still don’t know how to knit, I love sharing the projects for y’all who do! In fact, I think I need to hunt someone down to make this for me because I love it so much! I especially love the coloured yarn threaded throughout. I wish that it wasn’t Summer coming up… horrible, horrible Summer, but I can still wear this next Winter!
Scarves are quite big in my office right now - you’ll find at least three people wearing one on any given day! I personally love them - they dress up an otherwise boring outfit in a snap and the heating/cooling in the office can go from 10 degrees to 30 in an hour so it’s great for maintaing comfort too! This fringe scarf is no sew - just heat bond, coordinating fringe and you’re done!
15 Ways To Tie A Scarf | The Fashion Spot
OK, so now you’ve made your new scarf, here’s 15 great ways to tie it! Numbers 3, 9 and 12 are my favourites but I think I will have a go at tying most of these. Of course, you will need different sizes for some of these, but scarves are such a great way of dressing up an outfit so why wouldn’t you want multiple!?
Modcloth Inspired Pom Pom Scarf | Stars For Streetlights
As usual, the weather is really weird here at the moment. It will start out cold in the morning, get warm, then get colder again in the afternoon. Too warm to wear a cardy, too cold to go short sleeves. Damn you weather! I like wearing big scarves because it means I can wrap them around me if I get really cold and they look fab. I have a ton of pom poms laying around (surprised?!) so it will be easy to make too.
Pom Pom Scarf | The Purl Bee
Winter is coming and that means I’ll be adding more and more layers to my daily outfit! We have a really weird air conditioner at work, and it gets super cold then super hot in my office so I need to be able to add and take away easily! I particularly love the neon and gray combo in this scarf.
Pom Trim Scarf | Carry On…Carry On…
I get quite a few people requesting no-sew crafts, so for y’all here is a great one that is also perfect for gift giving! I have always loved scarves but I think that there is a conspiracy that any that I fall in love with are about three centimeters long once I pull them off the rack. Thus, making my own is always the preferred option. I love this scarf, mainly because I have a passion for ticking fabric and pom pom trim! If you want, you can sew the trim on, but the tutorial for this one shows how to attach the trim using fabric glue. quick and easy, perfect to give to friends (choose a print that you think they will like and get pom trim to match - or any other trim if you don’t adore pom pom as much as I do!)
Easy Stitched Scarf | Katie Did
If you can hold some yarn and run it back and forth under a sewing machine, you can make this scarf! I’ve seen some crafts that I considered easy, but this is seriously so easy! For my Southern hemisphere folks this is probably not the best gift, but y’all up top - this would be easy to make in bulk (and of course you should make one for yourself too!)
Braided Scarf Tutorial | Put Up Your Dukes
Yep, another one! I love the combination of the two colours knotted together, and the directions are really easy to follow (which is good for me because I need really clear insructions when it comes to sewing!)
25 Ways To Wear A Scarf | Wendy’s Look Book
I have always wanted to know how to tie scarves! I always see girls wearing their scarves effortlessly and wanted to know but have been too scared to ask! And not only does Wendy show you how to do the scarf pictured but 24 other types too! But I realise that all my scarves are too short so I need to buy myself a super long one!
