One thing I love about DIY bloggers is that they take things I love, like big chunky rhinestones and give me creative ideas on how to use them. Chunky chain is in all the fashion stores at the moment, so this piece is also really on trend at the moment. There are also some links with the tutorial on where to find these giant rhinestones if you’re not lucky enough to find them in your local craft stores!
If you’re wanting to wear something fun for Christmas Day but don’t want to don a reindeer with googly eyes on the thickest sweater you’ve ever found then creating one of your own is a great alternative! The jewel heart is my favourite, but the Joy sweater with the pom pom sleeves is pretty hard to say no to!
Triangle Bead Bracelet | Swellmayde
It’s funny that just the other day I was trying to remember how to thread bracelets like this! I love the geometric shapes in it as well as the colours. Perfect to go with all the fashion out there at the moment and great to make for friends as it’s easy to re-adjust them.
Tie Dye Denim | Swellmayde
It’s funny how sometimes you think of something and then it magically appears! I was wondering the other day about tie-dyeing denim. I figured it would be quite difficult as denim is quite thick and would be hard to wrap so you get the desired effect. Then I was perusing Swellmayde and double-taked - here is the solution! Not only do you get to make a mess but you get to be creative with your colours. I actually love this colour combo of pinks and bluey/purple. It’s a nice alternative to all the coloured jeans going around at the moment (plus you get to brag that they’re custom made!)
Tassle Necklace | Swellmayde
This is like the most perfect Summer necklace! I can see wearing this with a white tshirt and a hippie-ish maxi skirt. This is made with a combo of beads, tassles and wrapping the cord with thread. This tassle is made with chiffon but you could also probably use a ready made tassle (though I like the floatines of this one!) I’m going to take this pic to the craft store with me so when I’m standing in the aisles trying to work out what I want to buy I can whip this out!
