Neon Nails | Pshiiit
Well neon isn’t going anywhere and it’s now creeping into our beauty routines! Whilst I would never be game enough to do neon makeup, neon nails I can do. Especially when combined with a gorgeous mushroom like pictured. If you don’t think you could manage this design, try doing half moon or a french manicure.
Mermaid Braid | A Cup Of Jo
I love all of Cup Of Jo’s hair tutorials but she hasn’t had one in a while. But the wait was worth it because this mermaid braid is amazing and easier than it looks. Now if my hair would just grow a little more quicker so I can do this!
Seed Bead Necklace | Design Mom
Seed bead necklaces are one of the simplest necklaces to make with the most impact. What makes this one special is the little gold tube beads interspersed in the beads! The colours used in this mix is so pretty, and they work so well with the gold. If you don’t dig pink and gold, try green and silver or even blue and bronze.
Sparkled Apricot Nails | Cupcakes & Cashmere
Just today I was saying I wanted to try nail art pens but I had no idea what colour to buy… I would love to get them all but at ten dollars each, I can’t really justify that! But after seeing this tutorial I think I’ll start with a pink one. I love that one glittered nail too!
Stained Glass Nail Polish Tutorial | Refinery 29
This was meant to be a tutorial for Christmas but who says you can’t have stained glass nails any day of the week?! The colours pictured are very Christmasy, but I would love pink, blue and yellow colours. This has white as the ‘lines’ but if you wanted to you could also go for ‘real’ stained glass and use black with bright colours over the top.
A New Twist | The Beauty Department
So… the other day I had enough of my hair and cut it all off. Don’t freak out! I’ve done it before and because my hair is naturally wavy, I just chop bits and pieces to make it kind of layered and beachy. I love it. But then I see awesome hair tutorials like this and wish I still had long hair so I could do this! Well hopefully someone reading this will see it and get some joy out of doing this super pretty twist!
Hair Chalking | The Beauty Department
Have you ever heard of hair chalking? It’s one of those things that sounds really fun and easy, but I’m sure it’s actually quite complicated! Haha! Basically you use soft chalk and rub it onto strands of your hair. If you have dark coloured hair they suggest using water (but DON’T use water if you have light coloured hair or it will stain it!) click through for more information about how to. And if you try it, please let me know how it goes!
Honey Strawberry Scrub | Tried And True
So I haven’t posted a scrub in… three days, so here’s another one! This time with delicious strawberry pulp. Yum! Of course, because of this addition, you will need to use the scrub within a week or so, but I doubt it’s going to be sitting around for that long!
Valentine’s Manicures | The Beauty Department
It’s not Valentine’s Day anymore but these manicures are so cute I had to share! I’ve always wanted to try those nail decals - has anyone tried them out? Are they easy to apply and how long do they last? I like the print with the red tips but I especially love the pink stripes with the opposite colour on the ring finger. Cute!
Paper Flowers | Wedding Chicks
My hallway is boring. So I bought some vinyl wall stickers in flower and bird shapes and stuck them to the ceiling. But now they’re all falling down! How amazing would a bunch of these flowers look stuck to the ceiling? It may take a while to make a few but combining these with some giant flowers would be so pretty… like a flower garden on the ceiling! I’ll just have to try and work out how to stop them falling down too.
Heart Shaped Bokeh | Globetrotter Diaries
I’ve seen this effect on lots of different pictures and always wondered how the heck they did it - I figured they did it afterwards, but apparently it’s called ‘bokeh’ and it’s quite easy to create! I don’t know a lot about photography, but GD says you will need a prime lens with a large aperture and a bit of math knowledge and then you’ll need some pretty lights to photograph! Of course you don’t need to do a heart - a star would look awesome, or even squares of triangles. Google ‘bokeh’ to see more inspiration and ideas!
DIY Inspiration: Turquoise Nails | A Pair & A Spare
Yesterday I bought some black shatter nail polish and completely failed trying to use it! I had hot pink as the base colour and did the black over the top but I didn’t realise how quickly it starts to dry/shatter and…. it ended up a hot pink mess! But after seeing these gorgeous nails via AP&AS I decided to have another go with the shatter polish but with blue underneath and it looks great! I asked my cousin Laura and she said that OPI does a really good one, but Sally Hansen has a great one too. If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your nails with minimal effort but maximum effect, have a go!
Box Lanyard & Chain Bracelet | Studs & Pearls
So guys I’m still going on my friendship bracelets. They take forever to make. As I said before, I must have been a lot more patient when I was younger. And oh yeah, no job or internet! Haha! I’m loving all these crafts from my childhood, so when I saw this box lanyard bracelet I was taken back once again - do you remember making these when you were younger?! But I seem to remember that I never used as classy colours as this - mine were very fluro! Making it in gold and black with the bronze chain is a lot classier and would go with a lot more outfits. Though with fluro making a big come back at the moment, putting a fluro colour in with the black would be very fashionable too!
Elbow Patch Sweatshirt | Black & White and Loved All Over
I’m not sure why, but I’m a bit prissy when it comes to clothes. I don’t own any sneakers, my jeans are pants style and I don’t own any jumpers or hoodies. But with the weird weather we’ve been having I’ve come to the realisation that I need something like this hoodie for that in-between weather. But if I’m going to wear a hoodie then it’s going to be super sweet like this one! I love the combination with the yellow flower fabric. If you’re not keen on flowers, well you could really go for any fabric your heart desires. This would look pretty cool with some faux leather or suede too!
