Water Bottle Chandelier | Oh Happy Day
There are lots of things you can upcycle but water bottles aren’t something that pop into mind (well apart from refilling with water!) But this chandelier is amazing - colourful, pretty and easy to make! Perfect for a kids bedroom or anywhere really!
Recycled Tshirt Dishcloths | Dollar Store Crafts
I’m sure we all have dodgy old tshirts around the house that we no longer wish to wear but can’t bear to throw out! I love the idea of creating dishcloths out of them - especially because you can then chuck them in the wash to clean them and re-use them over and over again! This would be a great housewarming gift - add some really fancy washing liquid, gloves and tea towels!
The Blue Pants Dress | Comely Vesture
This dress is made from a pair of pants. Pants! It never ceases to amaze me how some people’s minds work. To look at a pair of pants and go - yeah, I could make a dress from that! You could even go out and buy a pair of cheapo pants if you don’t have any you don’t want to cut up. You could even buy a pair of jeans with a stretchy waist for a denim dress. This is so cool! Can you tell I’m excited?!
Book Vase | Fresh Home Ideas
I still feel a little uneasy about damaging books on purpose. Maybe it’s the sound of angry librarians still ringing in my head… but if the books are already damaged I say you can go to town. Better to use them than throw them away! Also I kind of like the idea of flowers coming out of the books, like nature coming back full circle!
Furniture Revamp | Live & Enliven
This is a super cool revamp, like something you would see in a retro furniture store with a insane price tag attached! This pattern would look amazing on a lot of stuff actually - I’m thinking of inside my cupboard doors?
5 Ways To Reuse A Wooden Pallet | Organic Authority
Maybe I should start a blog called ‘New Ways to Reuse Wooden Pallets’ because I keep finding all these awesome DIYs! This post features 5 fantastic ways to reuse - a dining table, wooden floorboards, plate rack, cofee table and a bed! Seriously, if you got your hands on enough pallets, you could basically furnish your whole house! I love the dining table, though I don’t know how comfortable a pallet bed would be!
CD Jewel Case Frames | Sunset
If you’re like me, your CD cases are currently chucked in a big box because you’ve ripped all your CDs to your computer or… don’t actually buy CDs anymore! I’ve seen some great CD case DIYs out there, including one from Martha that was a calendar for your desk (the case creates it’s own stand when you turn it around). This is such a great idea, especially for those of you looking for art on the cheap. Great for those of us who change our minds a lot!
Vintage Polka Dot Dress Refashioned | Say Yes! To Hoboken
This amazing dress used to be a maxi sleeveless dress! This is one of the most amazing re-fashions I’ve ever seen. I’m totally in love with that back ruffle. And I love that she added sleeves and made it a lovely above the knee length hem. Now I’m trying to think of a dress I have that I could convert using this idea!
DIY Miu Miu Swallow Mary Janes | Lions Tigers & Fashion, Oh My!
via redrumheart
I only recently became a ‘shoe girl’. Up til now, I’ve never really been interested (I think you’re either a ‘bag girl’ or a ‘shoe girl’. There are some that are both, but I don’t know how they afford it!) But I’ve been seeing so many pretty shoe DIY’s that it has me inspired, even making me think I might learn how to walk in high heels! And shoes like this would so be worth the pain, don’t you think?!
CD Lamp | DIY Life
CD’s, your demise is coming. I can’t remember when I last bought a cd, mainly because I don’t even own a cd player, and also because they’re more expensive than just buying mp3s. I’ve now ripped all my cds to my computer, but I’ve still kept my discs. They’re like books, I just can’t throw them out. I’e seen lots of DIYs with cds, but nothing I would actually put in my house. But I love this DIY, the lamp has retro style and actually looks quite classy! Buying a pair of lamps that looked like this and were actually glass would set you back quite a bit, and I alwys love DIYs that surprise people - ‘Oh, the lamp? Yes, I made it out of my Elton John collection. I call it the Can You See The Lamp Tonight’.
p.s. I’m ashamed of that joke.
Kitchen Message Board | Ruffles & Stuff
I am constantly forgetting things… due dates, bills, things I’ve borrowed, things I’ve promised to bring to someone. So having a pretty message board will hopefully encourage me to be more organised! I love how she has made the clips at the bottom from vintage clip on earrings! So clever.
Hat With A Big Flower | EvaForeva
Um, so this tutorial is a hat… with a big flower. How succinct. Well regardless of what it’s called, this is a super cute hat, and how awesome that it’s upcycled from an old sweater. I have one I know will be perfect, light lemon yellow. But I’m not sure if I’m a hat person, but I guess I’ll soon find out!
