Copper Chemist Vase | The Merry Thought
I just finished reading the latest issue of Home Beautiful magazine which had a piece about decorating with vintage scientific items like microscopes and old posters of plants. This very sweet little vase would have fit right in with those pieces with the copper setting and test tubes. I love the simple arrangement on the left with the single rose and white flowers.

Wire Vase | Design Love Fest
Design Love Fest has just started a new DIY craft section and I’m loving all of the posts she’s published so far. I particularly love these wire vases and the pretty colours DLF sprayed them. When working with wire I strongly suggest wearing gloves! It may take a little while to get your vases in good shape but keep at it and you’ll reap the benefits!

Faux Bois Vase | Centsational Girl
Oh my gosh, I thought that these vases were so much more complicated than they actually are! I love anything faux bois but more often than not it is quite expensive (and hard to find). This look is achieved by using sealant to draw the design, then spray paint over the top to create the ceramic look. Now that my cat has eliminated another vase, I’m looking for new ones so I think this is going to go on my DIY list!

Spring Craft Ideas | Country Living

I adore Country Living’s DIYs, they always post the best ideas. It’s funny, I’ve always had this idea in my head of making a tablecloth out of vintage hankies (or um, new hankies that look vintage!) and here it is! I also really like that vase made out of jars tied together, and the doily vase is adorable. Oh yeah, and the printed screen is a great idea - and they’re so cheap, it doesn’t matter if you hate it after a while! Anyway, they’re the ones I love, but there are 37 more here, so click through.

Simple Vase DIY | Hem
After a trip to my favourite flower store with my Mum today (Tynte Flowers - gorgeous!) I came home to discover that my vase selection is… lacking. I have about three vases and none of them were big or sturdy enough to fit the bunches we bought. I’m going to get a nice large vase and decorate it like this - so pretty. And so simple! This would look beautiful with a big bunch of white flowers, like roses, ranunculus or peonies.

30 Second Vase | Curbly
Can you guess what this is made out of? Let me give you a clue… they’re two every day objects, one you can find in the cupboard and the other from the party section of the craft department. Well it’s…
A BALLOON AND A GLASS. That’s right. A balloon and a glass. Just stretch the balloon over the glass, push the opening down and pop in your flower. Doesn’t it look like a ceramic vase? Don’t tell people that it’s a balloon over the glass though. It will be our secret!

One Vase, Four Ways | ShelterPop

The one thing I give to friends for house warming gifts is vases. They’re something that people rarely buy for themselves, but when you need one, you’re thanful you have one! I love having flowers in my house, to the point that my mum has to throw them out because they’re dead. Oops. If I could, I would have fresh flowers in my house every week. But even when I do have them, I just chuck them in a vase. That’s why I love this DIY, it’s a great way to see different ways to present them. I love the lemon one! You place a smaller vase into a bigger vase and fill the space between the two with cut lemons. From now on when I get flowers I’m going to take some more effort to make them present as pretty as they are!

Wooden Log Vase by Our Humble A{Bowe}d | The CSI Project
My posts tonight are all very vintage/sweet/bohemian tonight! This is a great recycling project, and who can’t find a log and a small vase?! I think I would need to get my dad to drill the hole though, I’m a bit dodgy when it comes to these things. But wouldn’t this look nice as a trio filled with wild flowers? Great ‘Winter’ decor! So inspiring.

Vase turned Cloche | ReadyMade
I’ve always wanted a cloche (well, I wanted one of those things with the glass thing that you put the stuff in which is apparently called a cloche!) but the ones I see are the same price as a day’s pay. Justify, I can not. This cloche is made from a upside down vase, pull handle and candle stick. I think my mum would also like something like this - perfect for displaying favorite little tidbits!

Hairpin Vase | Ashley Ann Photography
This is such a clever idea! When I first saw the post ‘hairpin vase’ I thought it would be something weird, like a vae covered in bobby pins! But this is so cool. I love adding little things around the house, sweet little tidbits that make me smile and brighten my morning. Maybe I should start adding bobby pins to everything so I can put little pictures everywhere! This would also be a fantastic bonboniere (sp!?) for a wedding - not only would you not need any extra table decorations, but you could also use them as either placecards or you could even put pictures from the wedding in there!

Erica’s Faux Porcelain Project | Design*Sponge
I have seen similar ‘real’ vases like these going for at least $100 each. And yes, they aren’t made out of the best porcelain but in a house with a cat who doesn’t believe in boundaries (i.e. ‘you might tell me not to walk across the mantel piece… but I’m a cat, so screw you’) having porcelin or indeed anything breakable is just asking for trouble! It’s a fun quick project and if you have any left over puffy paint, you can re-live your 80’s childhood and decorate your sneakers!
